Adding Instance Routes

Two DB instances in different VPCs can communicate with each other through a private network by adding instance routes.

Prerequisites

  • The source and target DB instances are under the same account.
  • The source and target DB instances are available.
  • A VPC peering connection has been established between the source and target DB instances.

Constraints

  • A maximum of 10 routes can be added for each DB instance.
  • After the major version of a DB instance is upgraded, you need to add instance routes again to resume cross-VPC communication.
  • To enable cross-VPC communication, routes must be added for both the source and target DB instances.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
  3. Click Service List. Under Database, click Relational Database Service.
  4. On the Instances page, select the instance that you want to add a route for and click its name.
  5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Instance Routing.
  6. On the displayed page, click Add Instance Route.
  7. In the displayed dialog box, enter the target instance ID and click OK.

To delete an instance route, enter the target instance ID in the search box to find the target instance, click Delete in the Operation column, and click OK.
