Deleting an Automated Backup

DDS allows you to delete failed automated backups to release storage space. Deleted backups cannot be restored. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

Method 1

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
  3. Click Service List. Under Database, click Document Database Service to go to the DDS console.
  4. On the Instances page, click the instance name.
  5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Backups & Restorations.
  6. On the Backups & Restorations page, locate the automated backup to be deleted and click Delete.
  7. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

Method 2

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
  3. Click Service List. Under Database, click Document Database Service to go to the DDS console.
  4. In the navigation pane on the left of the Instances page, choose Backups.
  5. On the Backups & Restorations tab, locate the automated backup to be deleted and click Delete.
  6. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.
